Thanks to the many sacrifices of our parishioners and the generosity of so many people throughout this country we have 23 acres of land on which sits our beautiful church and Pastoral Center. Recognizing that we are a growing faith community, and planning well into the future, we now have additional space for the faith formation of our children and adults, as well as space for ministering to our neighbors in need. The Pastoral Center includes a hall to gather and celebrate the good times, while also supporting each other during the difficult days in the life of our parish.
We have named the learning center after Sr. Philomena Fogarty, a Franciscan Missionary of Mary who spent most of her life in education and was the administrator of our faith community when it was a Mission of St. Anne Catholic Church in Columbus. Her life was tragically taken from us in 2003. She was called the Mother Teresa of Harris County because of her work those people most in need. Parish volunteers continue her ministry.
Our new Pastoral Center includes: the Sister Philomena Learning Center, the Community Outreach Center, Madden Hall, and the parish administrative offices. Reflecting on the words of the only prayer that Jesus gave us: “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven," it is our prayer that these facilities will benefit not only our parish and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Savannah, but also our neighbors in Harris and Talbot counties.
May God bless you and all thye people you love.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Brian O'Shaughnessy
Pastor
